Two Charged In Connection With Heathrow Alleged Pepper Spray Incident
Formal charges have been brought against two men in connection with a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be irritant spray led to people being hurt at London's Heathrow Airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two counts of robbery and two counts of administering a noxious substance, authorities have stated.
This legal action stems from an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Prior to the attack, two female travelers had their suitcases stolen after getting out of a parking garage elevator, police said.
A toddler was one of the people hurt during the incident. Several persons required hospital care and were later discharged.
This event – described by police as was isolated and not being treated as terrorism – led to disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a brief period.
